CRYSTAL SMITH
Ms. Smith is excited to be returning to her 10th year at the nationally and state recognized Kempner Theatre! She has achieved an Associates of Fine Arts degree from Houston Community College and her Bachelor of Fine Arts - Theatre Production degree from the University of Houston. She worked professionally at the Alley Theatre for 5 seasons as a staff stage manager where she found her true purpose in combining her passion for Theatre and educating young artists. Other professional companies include: Houston Grand Opera, Bayou City Concerts Musicals, and various community Theatre companies in the Houston area. Ms. Smith is deeply grateful to be named Teacher of the Year at Kempner in 2022-2023!! Ms. Smith is proud return to the school district where she graduated high school (Elkins), it all comes full circle! This year will be filled with lots of productive work, energy, and laughs!! ROBERT ARCHER
Mr. Archer is honored to be at KHS for his 8th year of challenging and thought provoking Theatre! Archer graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2011 with an emphasis in Acting and Directing. He has also studied abroad at the acclaimed Rose Bruford College in London, England and at the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona, Spain. While abroad he gained an exciting and thorough knowledge of contemporary European Theatre Arts. He has worked professionally in the Houston theatre community as an actor since graduation. Archer also teaches as a Workshop Artist for various programs, focusing on devising, movement, and character authenticity. Archer has proudly led Kempner Theatre to two UIL OAP State showings (2021 and 2023) and one State Alternate (2024). Archer started his journey in public education 10 years ago and continues to enjoy inspiring a new generation of artist! Email [email protected] |
